Kim Rey is a leadership consultant and Human Resources development expert with almost three decades of hands-on experience. She is an executive coach, facilitator, personal development specialist and entrepreneur. As a Professional Associate at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) since 2011, Kim adds value as a personal development and action learning coach, lecturer and integrator. Additionally, Kim is an Endeavor mentor, as well as a member of the International Coach Foundation (ICF) and the World Institute of Action Learning Foundation (WIAL).

After obtaining a Bachelor of Social Science with majors in Economics and Industrial Psychology, followed by a Postgraduate diploma in Human Resources from the University of Cape Town (UCT), Kim launched her career in operations management, learning and people development at Morkels Retail Group Ltd (Moregro). She worked in Human Resources (HR) management and occupied HR roles in the retail sector, culminating in the position of Intellectual Capital Executive at Moresport (Pty) Ltd.

In 2001, Kim established Kim Rey and Associates, a consulting firm specialising in leadership development, organisational change management, strategic Human Resources consulting and business coaching. Through this, Kim designs and facilitates customised learning sessions and provides tailored solutions to grow leaders. These initiatives have enabled the development of crucial skillsets in executives, managers and professionals from start-ups, medium-to-large companies, multi-national corporates and government departments in numerous sectors across Africa, Europe, the Middle East and the UK.

Kim’s specific professional coaching interest is in the areas of leadership development, career development and transitions, and personal mastery. Her coach-specific qualifications include:
